LA Fitness Refurbishment Programme

With 80 clubs throughout the UK & Ireland, LA Fitness is a market leader in the health and fitness industry, with 15 years experience and expertise.  The operator invested a total of approximately £20 million in refurbishing a number of gyms in London and the South East during 2009.

Ridgeway Furniture has refurbished the changing rooms at 20 LA Fitness Clubs, on time and on budget.

Our brief was to upgrade the changing room areas and significantly improve the changing facilities for LA Fitness members.  This included:

• New high quality wooden lockers.
• New locking systems.
• New free standing seating.
• New wet and dry area vanity units.
• New toilet cubicles and IPS panelling.
• New valuables lockers.
• Each and every club was individually assessed and surveyed by Ridgeway Furniture. Our design team configured the most appropriate layout taking into consideration each individual clubs requirements and membership base.  Our aim was:
• To maximise the number of locker compartments within the changing room facility.
• To ensure easy customer flow from the gym entrance and through the changing room.
• To deliver adequate changing cubicles, seating and vanity units in light of membership numbers.
• Where possible, make environmentally friendly and budget saving recommendations such as retaining existing locker carcasses.

 

With a demanding schedule and exceptionally fast turn-around times, Ridgeway Furniture were manufacturing and installing locker rooms often within a 2 week period.  With many other trades working in a confined space and under significant time pressure, an exceptionally flexible fitting team was essential.  In addition, many sites were running con-currently, with work continuing throughout the night and at weekends.

All 20 clubs were refurbished on time and on budget and Ridgeway are delighted to be part of the ongoing refurbishment plans for the remainder of the LA Fitness portfolio.
